Allpress Roastery. Collingwood
You wouldn’t guess this hidden gem is right in the heart of Collingwood! Allpress Espresso feels like a secret escape tucked away from the busy streets. This gorgeous spot is an absolute must visit.
The entrance? A beautifully lush, green lined path that’s completely flat all the way down. Extra points for making it accessible, wide and easy to navigate. The cafe entrance is also flat, so no need to worry about any tricky steps or uneven ground.
Once you head down the path, the space opens up into a large sunlit courtyard. Inside, the cafe is just as bright, with natural light pouring in from the courtyard making it feel airy and inviting. There’s plenty of room to move around with mobility aids or prams, and the tables and chairs are standard height. On a sunny day, that courtyard is where you’ll want to be.
Now, for the accessible toilet — it’s at the back, but here’s the downside; they store chairs in there, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. If they sorted that out, you’d have a fully functional, spacious toilet that works well for everyone.
As for parking, it’s Collingwood, so it’s always a bit of a challenge. I did find one accessible spot on Langridge Street, otherwise you might need a bit of luck with street parking.
If you don’t know it’s there, you might miss the pathway, but it’s worth seeking out. Oh, and did I mention the gluten free toasties? One of the best I’ve had in a long time! It’s the perfect spot to relax, soak up the vibes, and lucky for me, it’s right near my work.
