Code Black Coffee. South Melbourne
The latest addition to the Code Black Coffee family is located in South Melbourne serving brunch daily.
I’m starting with the star of the show. Accessible Parking. Don’t let busy market days deter you. There’s 6 accessible parking spots on Coventry Street. Yep 6. 2 on the cafe side and 4 on the market side. There’s also street parking and the market carpark on the rooftop with lift access down to street level.
Super wide, flat entry into the cafe on Ward Street side - the entrance on Coventry Street has a small step.
Nice and bright inside with big windows that open street side. The tables are a little close together, however there are a few tables on the edge that have more space. You can make a booking online here. All tables + chairs are standard height. Lots of tables out the front, which is perfect if you want to people watch and enjoy the sunshine.
The accessible toilet is at the back of the cafe. It’s a little tight to navigate past the tables and someone did have to move their seat for me to move past. There’s an automatic sensor on the door to the toilets, it slides open when you approach! A manual sliding door to get you in the accessible toilet. Sliding doors are my preference. Plenty of space inside and a baby change table.
One of my favourite brunches to date, a zucchini + dill fritter with salmon and a poached egg. Go check this one out!
