Hopscotch. Southbank
Urban beer bar + eatery on the banks of the Yarra, Hopscotch is another Southbank spot that’s very accessible!
Hopscotch sits in between city buildings in Riverside Quay, with huge ramp access from the sidewalk and step free entrance inside.
The buzzing brewpub has indoor and outdoor seating a plenty. I took advantage of the Melbourne sunshine and sat outside. There’s standard tables + chairs and pub style picnic tables outside. Inside has a big brewery feel with a huge amount of space to move around. Standard tables + chairs are mainly in the back half of the space. The front area and outdoor terrace that overlooks the Yarra is mainly bar stools + high tables.
For such a big space, I found it surprising there’s only an ambulant toilet on site. The accessible toilet is a shared toilet in the building directly behind Hopscotch - I’m marking it down slightly some staff weren’t confident advising where it was, so I went searching for it myself.
Plenty of carparks in the area; the closest is on Riverside Quay or Southgate next to The Langham. If you’ve been reading my reviews this is almost the same spot as Yarra Botanica! There’s one accessible spot next to Eureka and 2 more on Southgate Avenue next to Hamer Hall.
Another accessible spot to add to your list if you’re in Southbank. Did you know Hopscotch has 30 beers on tap?
