Hobsons Bay Hotel. Williamstown
When you find a rooftop pub that’s accessible, you become a bit of a regular! The view from the rooftop is totally worth the trip out west to Hobsons Bay Hotel.
Entrance here is step free but on a slight incline. If the incline won’t work for you, there is another door to the side with a wheelchair sign that gets you straight in level with the footpath - just ask the staff.
All 3 levels at HBH are accessible! On the ground floor is the front bar (bar tables with stools) and the dining room at the back. The tables are all standard height in the dining room but there’s not a lot of room in between tables. I’d make a note when booking if you require wheelchair access. The lift gets you up to the 1st floor which has a private dining room and lounge plus a balcony with tables + chairs (standard height with backrests). The rooftop on the top level is the highlight, with expansive views of the bay and city! They have pub style long tables + benches as well as bar tables + stools. There’s enough room on the balcony and rooftop for aids or prams.
Accessible toilets are on level 1 and on the rooftop. Both are big with backrests and baby change table.
There’s 4 accessible parking spots on Ferguson Street and plenty of street parking on surrounding streets as well.
I’m a big fan of the workers lunch available on weekdays!
