Nine Yards. South Melbourne
When South Melbourne has so many cafes, I make sure I choose one that has excellent access. Enter Nine Yards.
Sitting on Dorcas Street in a former stable, Nine Yards has a heritage frontage with step free entry.
Nine Yards is bright, open and roomy inside, seating 140 people. There’s different seating options to choose what suits you - standard tables + chairs, booths or a big communal bar table with high stools at the front near the entrance. There’s enough room to navigate between tables if you have an aid or pram; perhaps a touch more space towards the back of the cafe. I transferred off my scooter and left it next to me with no issues. Out the front you’ll also find standard tables + chairs at street level and on the deck (which has ramp access).
There’s an accessible toilet that is on the smaller side due to the large baby change table. It works but there’s not much room to turn around.
There’s one accessible parking spot on Dorcas Street on the opposite side to the cafe. Plenty of street parking available in the area too.
If you’re a sucker for a cafe with pretty interior, good coffee and easy access like me, go check this one out!
