Pub with accessible rooftop in Yarraville Village

Open 7 days 12pm to late

Rooftop pubs seem to be my specialty - and I’ve found another gem for you, this time in the west! Nestled in the heart of Yarraville Village is Railway Hotel. If you haven’t been to Yarraville yet, you’re seriously missing out.

The entrance on Anderson Street is accessible via a small ramp leading straight into the front bar. The doorway is a bit narrow, so you’ll need to get someone to open the double doors from the inside to clear the frame.

The pub blends an old-school vibe with a fresh, modern touch. On the ground floor, you’ll find the front bar and a large dining room on the other side. Both areas are spacious, making it easy to find a spot to enjoy a drink or a classic pub meal. Seating in the dining room is standard height, and the front bar has a mix so you can choose your spot based on what works for you.

The rooftop is great if you’re after a drink or want to catch a game on TV. A lift takes you straight up, and this level also houses a function room. There’s a small threshold to navigate (I cleared it on my scooter), but a threshold ramp would make this space even better. The tables on the far side were most suitable for me - standard height tables. For added comfort, I grabbed a chair with a backrest from inside to transfer onto.

There’s an accessible toilet on the rooftop (between the bar and the function room) and another back on the ground floor in the dining room. Both are functional, with grab rails and backrests - always a win when toilets are accessible across multiple floors!

For parking, there’s 2 accessible spots in the carpark next to Woolworths - entrance is on Canterbury Street. Canterbury Street also has 1 accessible spot.

My pick here is the dining room - great pub vibes and plenty of space. There’s also a big pool room at the front if that’s your thing. It’s a classic spot I keep coming back to!
