World’s largest digital art gallery

Sunday - Wednesday: 10am-6:30pm

Thursday - Saturday: 10am-9:30pm

The Lume is the worlds largest digital art gallery! Their latest experience, Connection, celebrates the works of Australia’s First Nations artists.

Spanning 3,000 square metres of immersive gallery space, there is plenty of room to move around or to sit down, relax and take it all in. There’s a mezzanine level that is accessible via a lift where there’s space to view from above. I found it quieter up here but preferred the feel of it at ground level. There's large ottoman type seats scattered throughout or you can simply sit down on the floor! The space is completely flat, big and open that I didn't once feel like there were people near me.

They have their own cafe inside the gallery space that allows you to enjoy a bite to eat or drink while watching the vibrant, digital moving art. The tables are nearly all standard height and chairs have backrests, apart from a few higher tables with stools at the back.

Accessible toilets are down the back of the gallery floor. As expected, they're big, they have a backrest on the toilet and a baby change table. Accessible toilets are also inside the exhibition building foyer.

The closest place to park is directly next door at the DFO parking complex where you'll find accessible parking spots. Once inside the building, you will find THE LUME directly inside to the right. Make sure you pick up a discount parking ticket at the entry doors that entitles you to $12 all day parking.

It truly is an unmissable experience. If you've been thinking about going, you won't regret it!

*while the projected images and animations within the experience are slow-moving, be mindful if you are sensitive to moving light*

Companion cards are accepted here.
